Editing the scene

This evening Leigha spent the night at a friend's house and Jason went to work, so Bri and I had a very Christmas-ey themed girl's night out! The new performance space we've booked for improv had a live reading of 'A Christmas Carol.' It was really cool! The Repertory Theater here in Kansas City does 'A Christmas Carol' every year, so the cast of the reader's theater was done by former members of the cast who happen to be taking a break from the show this year for one reason or another. It was neat getting to hear new life breathed into Dickens' brilliance without the angle of a playwright or movie producer. There's something to be said for the pure work without the watered down influence of others. (Hence the slogan 'don't judge a book by it's movie.' It's true.) Bri seemed to have a good time, especially after she discovered the cookies and cider. You can always count on the five year old mind to have one track, and it's usually directly correspondant to sweets in some way.
